How it is computed

What each line means.

Every figure is computed from the session’s volume, traded premium and open interest on the nearest two expiries and 25 strikes around price. The put/call ratio divides put volume (or premium) by call volume (or premium), so above 1 means more went into puts.

The lean reads CALL-HEAVY when calls hold 60% or more of the premium, PUT-HEAVY at 40% or less, and BALANCED between. Volume over open interest above 1x means more contracts traded today than were open coming in.

What it does not tell you: who bought and who sold, whether a trade opened or closed a position, or whether puts were bought as a hedge. Heavy put flow is often protection, not a bet on a fall.
